ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

● Each self-contained classroom teacher PK-6 should select 1-5 pieces of student artwork to represent their class. Please send a maximum of 5 of the same projects from a school site.

● Middle school and high school visual art, media arts and photography teachers should select 20-25 pieces of student artwork.

● All artwork should be matted with a 2 inch border on a colored or black tag board/railroad board or mat board that compliments the image. Artwork that is larger than 30 inches on any side (including the mat) cannot be displayed. (Please do not use neon colors. The artwork must be centered and securely attached with quality masking tape if mounted in a window mat. Artwork mounted on a flat mat should be securely attached with a glue stick – no glue gun, white glue or staples)

● All artwork must have the provided label attached to the lower right corner of the front of the mat. The label should not cover the art work. (Please print legibly so that the student’s name is spelled correctly for the awards. Feelings get hurt when names are incorrect on certificates.)

● All artwork must be created in HLPUSD classrooms with HLPUSD teachers during the instructional day.

● Art work should be original work. Art work containing previously published, copyright or trademark protected images that have not been changed significantly to demonstrate the student’s unique voice and expression cannot be displayed as this is copyright infringement.
